GABRIEL'S OBOE

In the historical drama The Mission, Father Gabriel's character is loosely based on the life of Paraguayan saint and Jesuit Roque González de Santa Cruz. The story is set in 1756 and relates the true account of the massacre at a Catholic mission for Guaraní natives in northern Argentina; the lyrics here convey the themes of hope, perseverance, and sacrifice that marked Gabriel's effort to defend the mission against an invading Portuguese military force.
In his first encounter with the tribe, Gabriel plays a simple melody on his oboe, using the language of music to open a dialogue with the Guaraní.

CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART

Released on Brown Bannister's 1981 album Talk to One Another, this worship song is based on Psalm 51. Create in Me a Clean Heart was released again in 1986 as a duet with Amy Grant. This hymn calls on the Lord to renew our hearts and minds with joy and love for God.

This majestic Christmas anthem is placed in a setting for SATB, piano, violin, and cello. "Worship the King" was recorded by Sandi Patty for her 1983 holiday album, The Gift Goes On, and is a joyful invitation to celebrate the birth of Christ.
ERES TÚ

Eres Tú was recorded by Mocedades, and was Spain's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest of 1973. Calderón's lyrics were inspired by Federico García Lorca's poem Romance Sonámbulo. However, Mocedades recorded many hymns and songs that reflect the fundamental elements of Christian culture, and Eres Tú is regarded as a song of faith translated as "It's You, Lord."

The prayerful anthem Jesus, Lord to Me was written in 1981 and recorded by Gary McSpadden and later, Alvin Slaughter. The song was also covered by Sandi Patty on her 1982 album Lift Up the Lord.

Of this song of worship, Dallas Holm says "After many years of making music, this was the very first album done solely on my own without a record label. About the Artist
Chip studied music theory and orchestration at Texas Tech University, and now works as a voice actor while pursuing his passion, live theater. He's been singing with the Seattle Symphony Chorale since 2021, and has been a choral arranger since the age of manuscript paper and Blackwing pencils.
